Bore sights will produce a beam through the gun barrel onto your target. The gun sight can then be realigned exactly onto the bore sight dot for absolute dead-on accuracy. Whether a highly specialized Acu-Sight made for specific chamber load calibers, or a more general, "Universal" laser bore sighting system made for multiple different calibers, your scope or open sights will be dead-on. No errors - No Test firing required.
Laser bore sights come in many options. Some are containerized, similar to a cartridge and fit directly into the chamber of your rifle, while others are universal and made to fit many different types of weapons . Most bore sighting system are 100% self-contained. No separate battery pack needed. Some bore sights work when the slide or bolt is closed, the laser is then activated and shines its beam directly down the barrel exactly on the bore line. Other bore sighters work by sliding the bore sight device into the muzzle of the gun, i.e., a muzzle loader universal bore sighter system, and are held in alignment with a self contained alignment sleeve. The laser bore sight is activated at the head of the device and the scope adjusted to the laser dot for near perfect accuracy.
Between 25 yards and 100 yards, there is no adjustment needed for the index of drop for the projectile. If sighting in at more than 100 yards with a Bore Sighter System, you can determine the exact line of the bore to a target at a selected distance, measure the projectile drop distance derived from the ammo ballistics chart, and setting your hunting scope at a point above the laser dot for near perfect alignment of your scope sights.
